One Wintery Night in Torvaldsland
by Arealius the Sailor, Scribe of Port Olni
In the land of Torvaldsland, where Vikings did stray,
There stood a village, Iron Hall, in a most precarious way.
High Jarl Bayne, with beard so bright,
Led the villagers, through the dark of night.
Their homes were wooden, with thatch on the roof so fine,
But danger lurked nearby, in a most dreadful shrine.
The Kur, oh the Kur, with fur so dark and bright,
Tool-using apes, with appetites, most frightful in sight.
They'd creep and they'd crawl, with eyes so sly,
Seeking bosk and verr, to satisfy their carnivore's sigh.
And sometimes, oh my! they'd snatch a villager too,
A tasty morsel, for their dreadful crew.
High Jarl Bayne, with axe in hand so bold,
Led the defense of Iron Hall, to never grow old.
"We'll fight off the Kur!" he cried, with a mighty roar,
"Our bosk and verr, we'll protect, forevermore!"
The villagers rallied, with spears and shields so bright,
To face the Kur, in the dark of night.
The Kur, they howled, with a chorus so dire,
As they charged Iron Hall, with a most dreadful fire.
But High Jarl Bayne, and his villagers so brave,
Fought off the Kur, with a most daring wave.
They swung and they clashed, with a most mighty sound,
As the Kur, they retreated, to the forest, all around.
The villagers cheered, with a "Hooray!" so loud,
As High Jarl Bayne declared, "We've saved our bosk and verr, proud!"
The village, Iron Hall, was safe, for another night,
Thanks to High Jarl Bayne, and his shining light.
But the Kur, they'll return, with a most dreadful might,
And Iron Hall must be ready, to fight for what's right.
For in Torvaldsland, where Vikings do roam,
The battle between humans, and Kur, will forever be known.
In the land of Torvaldsland, where Vikings did stride,
High Jarl Bayne, with a beard so bright, did reside.
He gathered his warriors, with armor so bold,
To hunt the Kur, with a story to be told.
"My brave warriors!" he cried, with a voice so clear,
"We'll track the Kur, and banish all fear!
With axes and spears, we'll chase them with might,
And protect our village, through the dark of night!"
The warriors cheered, with a "Hooray!" so loud,
As they marched to the forest, with a most daring crowd.
The peasants joined too, with pitchforks so fine,
To help the warriors, in this most noble shrine.
Through the trees they marched, with a most careful pace,
Seeking the Kur, with a most wary face.
Their eyes scanned the shadows, with a most watchful sight,
As they tracked the Kur, through the dark of night.
The Kur, they howled, with a chorus so dire,
As they sensed the humans, with a most dreadful fire.
But High Jarl Bayne, and his warriors so brave,
Charged forward with courage, to save their village cave.
With axes and spears, they clashed in the night,
As the Kur, they retreated, with a most dreadful fright.
In the land of Torvaldsland, where Vikings did stride,
The warriors of Iron Hall, with valor did reside.
They fought the Kur, with a fierce mighty roar,
Four, five, or more men, against one Kur, forever more.
The Kur, they howled, with a chorus so dire,
As they clashed with the warriors, with claw and fang's fire.
They ripped and they tore, with a most dreadful might,
But the warriors fought on, through the dark of night.
With swords and shields, they charged forward with zeal,
Forcing the Kur, back to their lair, a most dreadful reveal.
A cave dug deep, in the side of a hill so steep,
A dungeon of horror, where terrors did creep.
The warriors entered, with a most cautious pace,
And found a sight, the most gruesome, a most dreadful space.
Bosk and verr, hung from chains, to bleed and to die,
But worse, oh so much worse, men and women, did lie.
Their bodies pale, their eyes sunken, their skin so gray,
Hung from chains, to bleed out, in a most dreadful way.
The warriors' anger, boiled over like a sea,
As they charged forward, with a most furious spree.
Single warriors, with swords, took down Kur beasts so bold,
Powered by anger, their hearts, with valor untold.
They fought like Kur, with a most feral might,
Through the cave, they battled, with all their light.
And then they found, in the depths of the lair,
Poor girls, bond and free, with no voice, no care.
Their eyes blank, their souls crushed, their hearts so still,
Unable to speak, or weep, or move, or will.
The warriors' mercy, was to end their pain,
With swords, they freed them from their dreadful chain.
A mercy killing, to end their woe,
For they could not live, with the horrors they'd know.
The warriors wept, for the girls, so young and so fair,
For the lives they'd lived, in the Kur's lair.
They vowed to protect, their village, their home,
From the Kur's evil, forever to roam.
And so they left, the cave, of horror and might,
With a promise to defend, through the dark of night.
For in Torvaldsland, where Vikings do stride,
The warriors of Iron Hall will forever abide.
The warriors cheered, with a "Hooray!" so loud,
As they returned to Iron Hall, with a most victorious crowd.
High Jarl Bayne, with a smile so wide,
Thanked his warriors, and the peasants, side by side.
"We've protected our village, with a most noble might,
And proved our strength, against the Kur's dreadful sight!"
The villagers celebrated, with feasts and with song,
As High Jarl Bayne, declared a most joyful throng.
But the Kur, they'll return, with a most dreadful roar,
And Iron Hall must be ready to fight once more.
For in Torvaldsland, where Vikings do roam,
The battle between humans, and Kur, will forever be known.
